MONTEVALLO – Two local women are taking a stand against bullying, rape, drugs and abuse with the Stand Up Program Montevallo Spring Break Blowout Talent Show March 23.

The talent show will begin at 1 p.m. at Dailey Park in Montevallo. In addition to a talent show March 23, attendees can also enjoy a free picnic.

Bridgetta Taylor and Leslie Reynolds felt called by God to begin the Stand Up Program as a way to build self-esteem in the county’s youth and help kids who have been abused and bullied, according to a press release

The Stand Up Program’s first event was Oct. 6 at Columbiana City Park. On Dec. 15, the program sponsored the Holiday Idol Christmas Youth Performance talent show.

“Our purpose is to take a stand against bullying, rape, drugs, abuse, poverty and hunger while supporting our youth and neighbors. Our mission is to bring unity to our youth and build up their self-esteem,” according the release.
