Pelham’s Whitney Gillespie and Emily Spann combined for a no-hitter in a 12-0 Panthers’ victory over Stanhope Elmore at home to begin the 2013 season.

Pelham (1-0) took an early 1-0 lead in the first, then added four runs in the third for a 5-0 advantage. The Panthers struck for seven runs in the fourth to seal the 12-0 win.

Madi Walker led Pelham with a 2-for-2 performance with a double, a home run and two runs scored. Spann added a 2-for-2 effort with a pair of runs.

Rebekah Fox went 2-for-3 from the plate with a home run, a double, and a team-high four RBIs. Kristian Foster added a 2-for-3 performance with a double and two runs scored.
