Eddith Lee “Punt” Hale Hassett, 86, of Vincent passed away Feb. 23, 2013 at her residence.

Visitation will be held Feb. 26 from 2-3 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with Bro. Patrick Hutto officiating. Burial will follow at Vincent Cemetery.

Mrs. Hassett was born in Cullman on Aug. 2, 1926, and was married to Elon Owen Hassett for 65 years before he passed away in 2010. Mr. and Mrs. Hassett were longtime members of the Harpersville Church of Christ.

Mrs. Hassett is survived by daughters Sandra Hassett Smith (Mike) of Vincent and Janice Hassett Grammer (Rick) of Birmingham; granddaughters, Lindsay Kathryn Smith, Amy Elizabeth Barton and Laura Leigh Barton, all of Birmingham; sister, Eva Hale Law (Gerald) of Gardendale; brothers, Marvin Hale (Mavis) of Decatur and Fred Hale (Myrtle) of Gardendale; sisters-in-law, Louise Hassett Deason of Vincent and Mary Hassett Smiley (Rex) of Vincent; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Julia Hale; sisters, Vetra Hale and Vyria Hale Harbison; and brothers, George Hale, Buell Hale and Elbert Hale.
