HOOVER — Spain Park Theatre will put on a special performance of a prize-winning show before representing the state at a regional conference in Kentucky.

Theatre students will perform in “The Servant of Two Masters,” which won Best in Show at the Trumbauer State Theatre Festival, on March 5 at 7 p.m. at the school, according to an email from theater instructor Eric St John.

Tickets for the March 5 performance will be $5 for students and $8 for adults. Proceeds will help fund the trip to Kentucky.

At the Trumbauer festival, held in December, Spain Park’s one-act play also won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, and had one selection for the festival’s All-Star Cast.

Spain Park students will compete at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, to be held March 6-10 in Louisville, Ky.

The Spain Park show will compete against 16 others from 10 states, St John said.

“This marks the fifth time in seven years that SPHS Theatre has represented the state,” St John said in his email.
