Shelby County shuts out Talladega

It was a great start to the 2013 season, as the Shelby County Ladycats defeated Talladega 16-0 Feb. 27.

Kaitlyn Paschall started in the circle and allowed one hit and struck out three in the top of the first.

The Shelby County offense put runs on the board quickly with a 13-run first inning. The inning included a solo home run by Brianna Buie, followed by another solo home run by Brittany Lansford, a 2-run homer by Ashlyn Blackerby, and a 3-run homer by Paschall.

The Ladycats put three more runs on the board in the second inning, including another 2-run home run by Paschall.

Shelby County finished 12-of-21 at the plate, with 8-of-10 players scoring during the game.

Paschall gets the win in the circle for the first win of the season. Anna Couch entered in the third inning and allowed one hit while recording a strikeout.
