Chelsea shuts out Sylacauga

The Chelsea Hornets defeated the Aggies of Sylacauga 10-0 March 4.

Chelsea started fast scoring four runs in the top of the first. They would add two runs in the third and four more in the fourth.

Chelsea was led offensively by James Calhoun who was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Davis Shoemaker was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI and three runs scored. Austin Chadwick went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Hunter Kennedy was 2-for-2 with a walk. Casey Ballenger was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Tripp Hobbs and Jacob Green each had a hit in the win.

As impressive as Chelsea’s offense was, it was junior pitcher Ross Ham who stole the show. Ham kept the Aggie offense off balance all night. The Chelsea right-hander threw a complete game 1-hit shutout on two walks and nine strikeouts.
