COLUMBIANA – No Columbiana Middle School students were injured after a strong thunderstorm passed through Columbiana on the afternoon of March 5, said Cindy Warner, spokesperson for Shelby County schools.

In a March 5 email, Deputy Superintendent Tom Ferguson wrote “no one was hurt.” Ferguson also wrote the wind damaged “a small section of the building.”

“The damage is isolated to the (agriculture) building. It’s mainly roof damage and damage to a gas line,” Warner said. “I think the gas line issue is primarily impacting hot water.”
