The Spain Park Lady Jags captured the Wetumpka tournament title March 8-9.

Spain Park (13-6) went 6-1 over the weekend while giving head coach C.J. Hawkins her 600th career victory.

Spain Park defeated Enterprise 1-0 to begin the tournament. Haleigh Sisson allowed no runs on two hits with five strikeouts in the win over Enterprise.

Thompson scored six runs in the first inning to take a 9-3 win over Spain Park to end pool play. Haley Crumpton allowed three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks in the win for Thompson. Sarah Holdbrooks led Thompson batting 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Madi Gipson led Spain Park batting 1-for-2 with a double and Mary Beth Glass added a 1-for-1 effort with an RBI.

Spain Park began day two of the tournament with an 8-1 victory over Tallassee, and then defeated Montgomery Catholic 2-0.

The Lady Jags scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to fight back from a 2-0 deficit against Alabama Christian for a 3-2 victory. The Spain Park win gave Hawkins her 600th career win.

Glass led Spain Park batting 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double that tied the game in the fifth.

Spain Park defeated Oak Mountain in the tournament semifinals 2-1 to advance to the title game. Sisson allowed one run on four hits in the win. Anne Thomason allowed two runs on one hit with three strikeouts and three walks in the loss for Oak Mountain.

Julie Knight had the lone hit and RBI for Spain Park. McKenzie Ridgway led Oak Mountain batting 1-for-2 with a double.

Sisson led Spain Park to the Wetumpka tournament championship when she pitched a three-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory over Scotsboro. Sisson recorded two strikeouts and one walk in the victory.

Gipson led the Lady Jags batting 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and a run scored. Mary Kathryn Bonamy added a double in a 1-for-3 effort with a run.
