Panthers down Chelsea, 9-1

The Pelham Panthers responded after falling to Chelsea earlier in the week with a 9-1 victory March 14.

Chelsea plated the first run of the game in top of the second, but Pelham answered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-1 lead. The Panthers added a run in the third, two in the fifth and a run in the sixth to seal the win.

Jack Pierce picked up the win for Pelham allowing a run on 10 hits with 10 strikeouts and four walks. Sam Finnerty went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Panthers. Thomas Lowery added a triple while batting 1-for-4 with Zach Canant and Eli Beall each adding doubles.

The Hornets were led offensively by Tripp Hobbs who was 3-for-4 at the plate. Hunter Howard went 2-for-3 with a double. Jacob Green was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Davis Shoemaker, Keelan Gregg and Casey Ballenger each had a hit in the loss.

Tripp Hobbs took the loss on the mound for Chelsea. Hobbs pitched 5 innings giving up eight runs, two earned, on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
