Charles Carrell Alverson, age 80, of Calera, passed away on March 14, 2013. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. on March 17 at Northside Baptist Church, Calera, with Rev. Billy Alexander and Rev. Joe Sizemore officiating. Burial followed at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation was on March 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Mr. Alverson is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Alverson; brother, James Alverson; and sister, Ethel Mae Rose. He is survived by his wife, Betty Alverson; daughters, Sandra Roberts (John) and Donna A. Bradshaw (David); son, Chuck Alverson (Kelly); grandchildren, Dana Janney (Bobby), Alicia Wasserman (Kevin), Justin Roberts (Leann) and Drew Bradshaw (Amber); great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Wasserman, Will Janney, Emma Janney and Wes Janney; sisters, Jewel Dean Hallford and Sue Hadaway (Frank); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
