Montevallo ranked No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Montevallo baseball team is ranked No. 27 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II baseball poll released March 18.

The Falcons (19-9 overall. 10-5 in Peach Belt Conference) debuted at No. 22 in the national poll last week.

Montevallo is one of four Peach Belt Conference schools that continue to be ranked in the top 30.

Lander University moved up to No. 2 in the latest poll, marking the Bearcats highes ranking this season. The Falcons travel to Greenwood, S.C. to face the Lander University in a three-game series March 23-24.

First pitch in the series opener is set for March 23 at 2 p.m. CST.

USC Aiken moved up five spots to No. 8 in the national poll. The Pacers travel to Montevallo for a three-game series against the Falcons on March 29-30.

UNC Pembroke moved up 10 spots to No. 15 in the latest poll. The Falcons took two-out-of three games against the Braves in a Peach Belt Conference series in late February.

UAH, a team the Falcons defeated 5-3 in a non-conference game March 13, is ranked No. 14 in the national poll. Delta State University, which swept the Falcons in a hard-fought three-game series in early February, moved up to No. 1 in the poll.

The Falcons return to action Wednesday, March 20 with a non-conference game on the road at the University of North Alabama.
