Vincent finishes Parker tourney undefeated

The Vincent Yellow Jackets softball team won four games March 16 on the second day of the Parker tournament to finish 6-0 on the weekend.

The Yellow Jackets have won their last eight games to improve to 8-7 on the season.

Vincent began March 16 with a 2-1 victory over Woodlawn. Makalla Odom allowed one unearned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Odom led Vincent at the plate batting 1-for-2 with a double. Brooklyn Jones and Ashlynn Melton each had an RBI in the win.

The Yellow Jackets followed with a 12-2 win over Ramsay in three innings. Courtney Barber picked up the win allowing one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts and a walk. Destanie Howard led the Yellow Jackets batting 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored. Jameia White added a 2-for-2 performance with a RBI and two runs scored.

Vincent scored two runs in the second and two in the third for a 4-2 victory over Leeds. Odom pitched Vincent to the win allowing two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts. Four Vincent batters went 1-for-2 with a RBI.

The Yellow Jackets ended the tournament with a 6-3 victory over Wenonah. Barber allowed three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks in the victory. Crisslyn Jones and Odom each went 2-for-2 from the plate to lead Vincent. Ashley Taylor hit a double while batting 1-for-2 with a run scored.
