Thompson wins opener at Panama City tourney

The Thompson Warriors scored nine runs in the second inning to take a 10-6 victory over Arnold Fla. in their first game of the Panama City tournament March 18.

Thompson (20-7) scored nine runs on six hits to take a 10-1 lead after the second. Arnold scored three runs in the fifth and two in the seventh, but the Warriors held on for the win.

Mason MacDougall pitched six innings in the win for Thompson and allowed four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks.

Houston Davenport led Thompson with a 2-for-2 effort with three RBIs. Mel Harwell, Davis Cox and Drew Avans each had two RBIs for the Warriors.
