Hoover sweeps Spain Park in doubleheader

The Hoover Bucs held Spain Park to four runs in both games of their doubleheader sweep of the Jaguars March 19.

Hoover scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 game-one victory. Josh Rich took the loss for Spain Park (12-9) allowing three runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.

Dalton Brown led the Jaguars batting 2-for-3 with a RBI. Jon Sumner hit a triple with a 1-for-2 effort and Brandon Bilek finished 1-for-3 with a double. Parker Hall went 1-for-3 with a team-high two RBIs.

Spain Park was held scoreless through five innings in an 8-4 game-two loss to the Bucs.

Trey Hawker allowed two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks in the loss.

Austin Haight led the Jaguars batting 2-for-3 with a double.
