The Thompson Warriors battled Rutherford (Fla.) for a 10-9 10-inning victory at the Rutherford High School of Panama City tournament March 20.

Thompson (23-7) scored two runs in the sixth to send the game into extra innings. After both teams scored a run in the eighth, Thompson took a 10-8 lead on a run scored on a Rutherford error and a RBI single by Houston Davenport. The Warriors held Rutherford to one run in the bottom of the tenth to take the 10-9 win.

Jake Walters picked up the win with three innings of work in relief with four strikeouts and a walk while allowing two runs on six hits.

Dee Tolbert led the Warriors with two doubles and a triple while batting 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Trey Matherson added a 3-for-6 effort with three RBIs. Blake Grill drove home two runs with a 1-for-4 performance.
