Oak Mountain handles late Chelsea rally

The Oak Mountain Lady Eagles softball team withstood a Chelsea sixth-inning rally for a 9-3 victory March 28.

Oak Mountain held a 4-0 lead heading into the sixth when Chelsea erupted for three runs to trail 4-3 headed into the bottom of the sixth. The Lady Eagles pulled away with five runs to take the 9-3 win.

Chloe Yeager pitched three innings in the win for Oak Mountain allowing no runs on a hit.

Kendall Cooper took the loss for Chelsea allowing two runs on two hits.

Caroline Sietz led Oak Mountain batting 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs. Madeline Porter added a 2-for-4 effort with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Maygen Boaz led Chelsea with a 2-for-2 effort with a double and a RBI.
