Slane battles for Panther Classic title

CALERA – Pelham High School senior golfer Connor Slane won the individual title at the 2013 Panther Classic hosted by Timberline Golf Club April 1.

Slane finished with a round of 73 and played after suffering an illness through the weekend.

Oak Mountain’s Harrison Mink led the Eagles with a round of 76 for fifth in the individual standings. The Eagles took second in the team standings with a combined score of 311, five strokes off the team champions from Northridge.

The Pelham team finished seventh with a score of 330 and Chelsea took 11th with a score of 401.

Northridge’s Will Walker took second in the tournament with a score of 74 followed by Hewitt-Trussville’s Charlie Parvin (75) and Westbrook Christian’s John Hilliard Cantanzaro (75).
