Hope Christian sweeps doubleheader at Tabernacle

The Hope Christian Eagles made a late comeback in the first game of a doubleheader at Tabernacle, but come back with a rout in the second for a sweep April 2.

The Eagles (7-4) scored three runs in the fifth inning to rally from a 3-run deficit to take a 7-6 victory over Tabernacle in game-one. Bill Etheredge pitched five innings in the win while allowing six runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Jesse Shoop led the Eagles with a 2-for-2 effort with a RBI and two runs scored.

The Hope Christian offense came alive with a 9-run second inning to take game-two 11-5. Chandler Donegan pitched five innings while allowing five runs on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Dillon Thompson led the offense batting 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
