Falcons eighth after first round at Bash at the Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team is currently eighth in team standings following the first round of the Bash at the Beach tournament April 6 at the LPGA International course.

The Falcons collectively carded a 65-over par 353 in the opening round of the tournament hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Lynn University leads the tournament after collectively shooting a 31-over par 319 in the first round.

Sophomore Ashlee Beck led Montevallo in the first round with her 11-over par 83, which places her in a tie for 13th overall in individual standings.

Fresman Morgan Natale is currently in a tie for 18th overall individual standings after shooting a 12-over par 84 in the opening round. Junior Hilary Shaner shot a 19-over par 91 in the first round of the tournament, which places her 44th overall in individual standings.

Junior Kira Chaudhry is currently in a tie for 48th overall after carding a 23-over par 95 in the opening round. Senior Kayla Witt rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers after shooting 104 in the first round, which placers her 59th in individual standings.

The Falcons return to action in the final round of the Bash at the Beach tournament April 7 at the LPGA International course.
