The Pelham Panthers softball team suffered its third defeat of the season in a 2-1 loss to Mortimer Jordan at the Bob Jones tournament April 6.

Pelham (24-3) was led by a solo home run by Kristian Foster in the third who finished the game 1-for-3. Rebekah Fox took the loss for the Panthers allowing one earned run on three hits.

The Panthers began the day with a 7-0 victory over Sparkman. Whitney Gillespie pitched a five-inning shutout and allowed two hits with five strikeouts and a walk. Foster led the way with a 3-for-4 effort with a double.
