The Thompson High School girls’ junior varsity soccer team defeated McGill Toolen 2-1 to win the McGille Classic soccer tournament March 16 in Daphne.

Thompson tied Pell City 0-0 in its first game, then defeated Auburn 5-0 and Prattville 3-1 to advance to the championship game.

Meghan Cottingham, Allison McCrimmon, and Anna Milliron were named to the all-tournament team. Melanie Brannon was named tournament MVP.
