Evelyn H. Canada, age 81, of Alabaster, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013, at her home surrounded by family singing.

Evelyn accepted Christ at the age of 15, graduated in 1974 from Manatee Junior College in Bradenton, Fla., with a registered nursing degree and was an Eastern Star member since December of 1957.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Emma Hauesler; and brother, Edwin Hausler.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Canada; sons, David W. Canada (Glenda) and Rick L. Canada (Martha); daughter, Sue Canada Walker (Butch); eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to give thanks to Evelyn’s special caregivers, Angie, Linda, Beth and Ethel.

Visitation will be held on April 26 from 1-2 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
