Hastings competes at USAG regionals

Macy Hastings, an 11 year old fifth grader at Thompson Intermediate, recently placed fifth overall at the 2013 USAG Region 8 Level 7/8 Regional Championships held at Georgia State University on April 19.

She represented Alabama having qualified at Level 7 for the first time at the Alabama State Finals held in Tuscaloosa March 23rd. 595 athletes from eight states participated from Ala., La., Miss., Fla., Ga., S.C., N.C. and Tenn. Hastings was second on floor with a score of 9.650 – which was her highest score ever; placed fourth in beam with a 9.6 – a personal best; and fifth overall with a score of 37.725.

Hastings is the daughter of Michelle and Todd Hastings of Alabaster and trains at Legacy Gym in Pelham.
