The Alabaster-Pelham Rotary Club is looking for teams and sponsors for its annual golf tournament aimed at raising money to help Shelby County charities and those facing hardships.

The four-man-scramble golf tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at Calera’s Timberline Golf Club, and will include cash prizes for the top-finishing teams. Dinner and lunch also will be provided.

A $1,000 prize will be split between the first-, second- and third-place teams in the tournament, and $2,000 will be awarded for a hole-in-one. The event also will include a putting contest and a prize for the golfer who lands closest to the pin on par three holes.

All money raised during the contest will be used by the Rotary Club to benefit several local programs working to help those in need, such as the DAY Program, Manna Ministries and others.

Tee and green sponsorships are $125, exclusive hole sponsorship and tent is $300 and golf cart sponsorships are $150. Sponsors who donate $1,000 or more will receive tee and green signs, a banner at the Timberline clubhouse and a free team in the tournament.

Team registration is $550, and individual registration is $137.50.

Those interested in sponsoring or playing in the tournament should contact Rotarian John Turpen at Turp1@charter.net or Rotarian Dick Ritz at Dickritz22@yahoo.com.
