Chelsea tops Calera

The Chelsea Hornets softball team jumped out to a 3-2 lead in the first inning and never let it go for an 8-4 victory over Calera at the Briarwood tournament April 26.
Bailey Coyne pitched Chelsea to the win while allowing two earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts over six innings. Erin Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Chelsea.
Emily Sanders pitched six innings in the loss and allowed four earned runs on 12 hits with a strikeout. Shelby Wright went 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Kymber McGiboney was 1-for-3 with a triple.
