The Spain Park Lady Jags softball team scored five runs in the fifth inning to seal a 7-0 victory over Tuscaloosa County to open the Hoover tournament April 26.

Julie Knight pitched six shutout innings and allowed three this with two strikeouts and a walk.

Mary Kathryn Bonamy went 2-for-2 with a home run and an RBI to lead Spain Park.
