Sarah Knowles, age 90, of Wilsonville, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on May 1 at Wilsonville United Methodist Church with Rev. Cliff Craft officiating. Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana is directing. Burial will follow in Reynolds – Randall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Knowles is preceded in death by husbands, James “Cotton” Lucas and Thomas Knowles; son, Wayne Lucas; grandsons, Mark Austin Lucas, Johnny A. Lucas, Steven Hicks, Chris Gaines and Eric Harless; parents, Marvin and Pearl Hill; and brothers, Stanford Hill and Jesse Hill.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Smith (Reed), Mary Hicks (Jerry), Jim Lucas (Becky), Hattie Harless (Steve), Connie Burnett (Dudley) and Lou Lawley; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Nadine Carlisle (Herbert); and a host of other family and friends.
