Father James Warren Blackwell

Father James Warren Blackwell of Alabaster died May 2, 2013, after a brief illness. He was pastoral care chaplain at Shelby Baptist Medical Center and a priest in the Anglican Church.

He grew up in Birmingham and graduated Birmingham-Southern College, the University of Alabama School of Law and Beason School of Divinity. He was in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services will be at the Anglican Church of the Holy Comforter, Montevallo, on May 9 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Father Bryan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
