The Alabama Department of Transportation will continue work on Alabama 119 from Pelham to U.S. 280 and in Montevallo this week, and will close portions of the road during night hours.

ALDOT is in the process of repaving the road, and will close portions of travel lanes each night from 7 p.m.-6 a.m. The Alabama 119 lane closures will take place between Interstate 65 exit 246 in Pelham and U.S. 280 in Hoover.

“Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area,” read an ALDOT road advisory. “ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.”

ALDOT also will be closing portions of the northbound lane of Alabama 119 South in Montevallo nightly from May 6-9 from 7 p.m.-6 a.m. as crews replace sidewalks. The work will take place through downtown Montevallo, according to an ALDOT advisory.
