Beth Chapman has written a new book definitely needed for this time in our nation. Her stirring, patriotic and inspirational collection of prose, poems and prayers is called “America, God and Country.”

The memories of the terrorists’ attacks on 9/11 seem to have waned in our hearts and minds over the last few years. However, the Boston Marathon bombings renewed those memories that radical Islamic extremists are still waging a war against America.

Chapman has written a book that I simply could not put down, as I read it cover to cover in one sitting. I believe it should be required reading for every student in Alabama as our secretary of state has poignantly reminded us of the principles on which America was founded. In her own words:

“I hope (this book) strikes a chord of patriotism so deep within you that it will refresh your sense of pride in being an American and that the sound of that chord will ring loudly to others across this nation. Our nation needs a revival of enthusiasm, a spark of hope and a light of eternal blessings from God. I hope that reading this book will provide that to you and that together we can turn our nation back to God and back to ‘the people’ who were intended to run it.”
