Juanita Posey, age 101, completed her earthly journey on May 14, 2013. Her husband, Paul Posey, preceded her in death 45 years ago. She was well-loved by her family: three daughters, Carolyn Posey, Harriett Beam (Joe) and Donna Posey (Fred); four grandchildren, Angel Harris, Andy Garrett, Kati Cochran and Adam Cochran; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Juanita taught a Sunday school class at Siluria Baptist Church, which was an important part of her life for many years. She served her Lord’s kingdom in many kind and generous ways. Juanita was a 50+ member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was elected to the Star point Esther and was also Worthy Matron of her chapter.

Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on May 16 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. on May 17 in Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham with Pastor Gary Jones officiating. Burial is in Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
