The Alabama Department of Transportation will close portions of Alabama 119 between Pelham and U.S. 280 this week to perform paving operations.

According to an ALDOT traffic advisory issued on May 31, the agency will close portions of the road 7 p.m.-6 a.m. each day from Monday, June 3 to the morning of Friday, June 7.

The lane closures will take place between the Interstate 65 Cahaba Valley Road exit in Pelham and U.S. 280.

“Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area,” read an ALDOT road advisory. “ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.”
