Alabaster will be offering its residents chances to catch free flicks at Veterans Park throughout the summer through the city’s Movies in the Park program.

Through the program, Alabaster will offer several outdoor movie showings on a large inflatable screen at the park, which is off Alabama 119 near the Alabaster-Montevallo line.

All movies begin at dusk, which usually falls at about 8 p.m.

The first move, “The Lorax,” was scheduled for June 7, but was canceled due to inclement weather.

The next movie, “Madagascar 3,” will be shown on Friday, June 21, “Hotel Transylvania” will be shown on Friday, July 12, “Wreck-it Ralph” will air on Friday, July 26 and “Happy Feet Two” will air on Aug. 9. All movies scheduled this summer are rated PG.
