INDIAN SPRINGS— Indian Springs Village is working on reconstructing a decade-old website.

Councilman Brian Stauss said the town is under contract with a firm to build the new site, and hopes for the launch to happen later this summer.

The firm is currently providing prototypes and working with Stauss and other council members to offer the option that will benefit residents the most.

No specific date has been set for the new launch.

The date all depends on when the firm and the town council find the best prototype and continue from there, Stauss said.

He said that they are mainly working on better navigation and functionality for the site.

“Initially it was just going to be functional placement of what we have today,” Stauss said. “We decided to add more content, better navigation, better features and more functionality.”

One of the new features is an update to the town calendar. Before, only the webmaster could change anything on the calendar, Stauss said.  Now each town official has access to update the calendar.

The website was created more than 10 years ago, and hasn’t been redesigned since.

“It was an Eagle Scout project for one of our residents,” Stauss said. “It was modern at the time, but it’s time to take it to the next level.”

He said he hopes to see the new website bring more positive recognition to the town, and provide more information.

“We hope it’s going to provide a richer content for our current residents, and be more informative for our future residents,” he said.
