Alabaster students in kindergarten through sixth grade are now able to enroll in Alabaster City Schools’ extended day program for the upcoming school year.

The afterschool programs will be offered at Creek View Elementary, Meadow View Elementary and Thompson Intermediate. Thompson Sixth Grade Center students will be eligible to attend the extended day program at TIS.

The extended day program will run each school day from the time classes end to 6 p.m. The program will be offered on all regular school days, but the program will be canceled on days schools close early.

All students planning to attend the extended day program or enrichment programs offered through Alabaster City Schools, such as Shelby Starlets Baton and International Karate, must register with the Alabaster School System.

Registration fees are $25 per child, and the monthly rate for the extended day program is $150 per child.

Monthly fees for children on the free and reduced lunch program and children of Alabaster City Schools employees is $100.

For those who wish to take part in the program on a per-day basis, the fee is $10 per day.

Children must be picked up by 6 p.m. each day, according to the school district. Late fees of $1 per minute after 6 p.m. will be assessed, according to information posted on the Alabaster City Schools website.

All fees will be paid through automatic debit. To register, parents or guardians should complete the registration and electronic funds transfer forms on Alabasterschools.org and take them along with a voided check to the student’s school.

Forms and a voided check can also be mailed to Alabaster City Schools, Attn: Extended Day, P.O. Box 480, Alabaster, AL, 35007.
