No injuries were reported after police said a teen drove his vehicle through the side of the Pelham Waffle House on U.S. 31.
The incident happened at about 1:45 p.m. on July 21 when a grey pickup collided with the northern side of the building, resulting in significant damage.
“It looks like a good bit of structural damage,” said Pelham Police Department Capt. Larry Palmer. “The extent of that will have to be determined once someone in construction takes a look at it.”
Pelham Fire Chief Danny Ray said one person was assessed by medical personnel on the scene, but nobody was seriously injured or transported to the hospital as a result of the incident.
The Waffle House will remain open for business while repairs are being completed.
