COLUMBIANA— Cornerstone Christian School is set to host its inaugural children’s consignment sale Aug. 15-17 at the school’s gymnasium.

The sale organizer, Laura Adams, said the sale is an effort to bring consignment into Shelby County.

“We have a lot of people that like to shop consignment sales,” Adams said. “They are mostly in Birmingham, so we wanted to bring one down here and make it more convenient.”

Adams said they will take consignors up until the first day of the sell.

“Anybody is welcome to sell from across the county,” Adams said.

Aug. 15 is only open to the workers and consignors, Aug. 16 is open to the public and Aug. 17 is a half-price day also open to the public, Adams said.

The school will have scheduled days for the consignors to drop off the items they are selling. Sellers will receive 60 percent of the profit from items sold and the school will receive 40 percent, Adams said.

The items will consist mainly of clothes and toys for elementary school aged children. Only clothing items appropriate for fall weather will be accepted, Adams said.

Pending the success and turnout of the sale, she said they plan to host another a sale in the spring and incorporate more age groups and items.

“We would love to see a large number of sellers and buyers,” Adams said.
