Renovations to the public boat ramp at Beeswax Park on Lay Lake began July 29 and will last about four months. While renovations are being completed, only one of the two current boat ramps will be available for public use, according to a press release by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries division.

The ramps are being replaced by a 60-foot-wide slab that, once installed, will allow four boats to launch simultaneously, according to the press release. The ramps are being renovated in conjunction with a similar project on Lake Jordan.
