Lane closures continuing on highways 31, 119 this week

The Alabama Department of Transportation will close portions of two highways in Shelby County this week as work continues on several road projects.

The following roads will see lane closures this week:

-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, crews began closing portions of U.S. 31 between Interstate 65 in Calera and I-65 in Alabaster to perform repaving operations. The road reopened at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

ALDOT will continue to hold lane closures on the stretch of U.S. 31 during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Aug. 22.

-Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, crews began closing portions of Alabama 119 between Alabama 25 in Montevallo and Shelby County 26 in Alabaster to continue repaving the road. The road reopened at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

The lane closures will continue during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Aug. 22.

-ALDOT began closing portions of Alabama 119 between U.S. 280 and the Shelby-Jefferson county line at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18 to continue repaving the road. All lanes reopened at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.

The lane closures will continue during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Aug. 22.
