The Alabama Department of Transportation will continue to close portions of U.S. 31 between Calera and Alabaster this week as crews repave the road.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, crews started closing parts of U.S. 31 between Interstate 65 in Calera and I-65 in Alabaster. The road was reopened by 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26.

ALDOT will continue to close portions of U.S. 31 during the same times each night through the night of Friday, Aug. 30.

The road closures are part of a several-week project to resurface the stretch of U.S. 31 between Calera and Alabaster.
