The Hope Eagles soared past the Evangel Family Christian Academy Saints 52-3 on Sept. 6 to roll to 4-0 on the season.

Offensive leaders for the Eagles were Reid Allen, who recorded 152 rushing yards on seven carries and Dillon Thompson, who ended the night with 113 yards on five carries. Thompson also reeled in two receptions for 85 yards.

Defensively, Houston Daily recorded six tackles, Ian Kirkpatrick recorded five and Cameron Barnett recorded four.

“It was the first game I felt like we played a complete game,” said Hope head coach Tony Nafe. “They are really starting to come together, which is good, because we are coming to the meat of our schedule.”

In the first quarter, Allen scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

In the second quarter, the Saints answered on a 32-yard field goal, but Hope answered with three touchdowns: One on a 60-yard pass from Allen to Thompson, one on a 26-yard run by Thompson and one on a 25-yard pass from Allen to Cannon Fuqua.

In the third quarter, Thompson, Allen and Micah Douglas all recorded rushing touchdowns.

In the fourth quarter, Thompson recovered an Evangel Family fumble and returned it 37 yards to score the Eagles’ final touchdown of the night.
