The Alabama Department of Transportation will continue to close portions of U.S. 31 between Calera and Alabaster this week as crews repave the road.

According to an ALDOT road advisory issued on Sept. 6, the agency will close north- and southbound lanes of U.S. 31 between Interstate 65 exit 231 in Calera and exit 238 in Alabaster.

The closures began at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, and all lanes were reopened by 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9.

The lane closures will continue during the same times each night through the night of Thursday, Sept. 12.
