UM volleyball wins sixth straight

The volleyball team was riding a five match winning streak heading into Wednesday night’s matchup with the Stillman Tigers. After posting a dominating performance against the Tigers, that winning streak was extended to six. The Falcons earned a three set sweep (25-7, 25-9 and 25-14) to improve their record to 9-2 overall (2-1 PBC).

Wednesday’s victory was a total team effort from the Falcons, as all 13 players saw game action. Montevallo was led by junior Katie Best, who had 10 kills on just 16 attacks, for an impressive attack percentage of .625. Not far behind Best was senior Michelle Carle, who had seven kills on only nine attacks, for thef astounding attack percentage of .778.

The only other Falcon to play in all three sets was senior Kaleigh Harvey. Harvey recorded seven digs and two aces.

Freshman Hannah Christie led Montevallo with 18 assists.

As a team, the Falcons posted .500, .474, and .481 attack percentages in the first, second, and third sets, respectively.

The University of Montevallo volleyball team will put their six match winning streak on the line Sept. 27, as they return home to Trustmark Arena to take on the Flagler Saints. The match will take place at 6 p.m.
