When Alicia Bailey is out shopping, people often tell her how adorable her two grandchildren, 3-year-old twins Jenna and Aubrey, are.
The problem is, she isn’t their grandmother.
Bailey responds by telling them she is actually their mother. The question that typically follows is ‘Was it natural?’
“People have a perception of how old you should be when you’re a mom. I’m 45. I can’t change that,” said Bailey, who is involved with the Birmingham Area Mothers of Multiples group, which meets in Hoover.
