HOOVER — New business owners will have a free resource available to them to answer tax questions on Oct. 17.

The Alabama Department of Revenue will host a free New Business Workshop Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson/Shelby Taxpayer Service Center in Hoover, according to a Department of Revenue press release.

The workshop will cover a variety of tax information topics, including employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, business licensing requirements, Alabama’s business tax electronic filing programs and Alabama’s child labor law.

Attendees will also get information about ONE SPOT, a free Internet filing and payment portal that allows taxpayers to file and pay state, county and city sales, use and rental taxes all at one website, according to the release.

The Jefferson/Shelby Taxpayer Service Center is located at 2020 Valleydale Road in Hoover.
