KCS volleyball splits tri-match

The Kingwood Christian varsity volleyball squad participated in a tri-match held at Southern Academy in Greensboro Sept. 30.

The Lions finished the two-match tournament with a 1-1 record.

In the first match, the Lions took on Morgan Academy, falling in three sets. Kingwood dropped the first set, 17-25, but rallied in the second to take a 25-21 win. In the third set, the Lions came up short, falling 12-15.

Kinsley Tillman paved the way for Kingwood with two aces, a kill and three assists. Katie Allen Etheridge had an ace and six kills, Madelyn Pearce and Kayla Brown had three kills apiece and Addy Moncreif had eight assists for the Lions.

The second match proved more successful, as Kingwood defeated host Southern Academy in two sets, 25-20 and 25-21, respectively. Pearce had five kills and two aces, Etheridge had four kills and five aces, Brown had two aces and a kill, Moncreif had five assists and Kinsley Tillman had four assists for the Lions.
