Vivian “Betty” Lovejoy Campbell, 79, resident of Six Mile, formally of Piper, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Harold Campbell Sr.; her parents, John Morgan Lovejoy and Myrtle Anna Nunnally Lovejoy; her brothers, Robert Nunnally Lovejoy and Jack Helton Lovejoy; and her grandson, Ben Bush. Betty “Nana” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her brother, William Earnest Lovejoy (Margie); her children, Thomas H. Campbell Jr. (Bonnie), Deborah C. Harbison (Jack) and Jan C. LaFoy; nine grandchildren, William Campbell (Brenda), Jerri Johnson, Teresa Acker, Jeff Bush (Charlotte), Greg Bush (Robin), Kenneth Harbison (Stacey), Kevin Harbison (Autumn), Dawn Johnson (Bryan) and Amy Cook (Patrick); 25 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Zane Hayes, Joshua Bush (Britany), Tanner Bush (Katie), Nicholas Bush, Tessa Hicks (Brandon), Kayla Taylor, Tyler Bush, Courtney Sumrall (Blaine), Zachary and Nathan Bush, Tiffany, Andrew and Timothy Campbell, Micheal, Beth and Jarrod Johnson, Megan and Morgan Harbison, Davis and Jackson Harbison, Janna Hyde (Jonathan), Tristan Johnson and Anna Maree Cook; and nine great–great-grandchildren.
“Nana” loved and served the Lord all the days of her life. She shared his love with her family and her friends through her gentle spirit, her comforting words and her radiant smile. “Nana” touched the lives of all who had the honor of knowing and loving her. She will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Although she will be sorely missed by many, her family and friends have the peace and the knowledge that today, “Nana” rests in the House of the Lord.
Visitation will be Oct. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, Montevallo. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Six Mile Baptist Church. Rev. Bob Hope and Rev Gary Aldridge will be officiating. She will lie-in-state one hour prior to the services. The graveside services will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be April Weaver and the staffs of Am-Serv and Shelby Baptist Medical Center.
