Those in need during the upcoming holiday season will have a chance to register for the Salvation Army’s 2013 Angel Tree program during a community festival on Oct. 12 at the organization’s Alabaster location.

The Salvation Army, which is at 108 Plaza Circle in Alabaster, will hold the community festival from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. During the event, locals will have a chance to sign up to receive assistance with Christmas gifts through the Angel Tree program.

The festival also will offer plenty of fun for the community, as music, games, a bounce house and more will be set up at the campus.

Those looking to register for the Angel Tree program should bring a photo ID for the head of the household, birth certificates for children 12 and younger, proof of all income and expenses and a proof of residency. The Alabaster Salvation Army campus serves those in Alabaster, Pelham, Helena, Inverness, Maylene, Saginaw and Siluria.

Through the Angel Tree program, families in need can provide gift wish lists for their children to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army then seeks volunteers from the community to adopt families to ensure the children have a happy holiday season.
