An Alabaster woman was released from the Shelby County Jail on a $15,000 bond on Oct. 12 after she was arrested and charged with using controlled substances while pregnant.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 39-year-old Rebecca Boothe on Oct. 10 and charged her with one felony count of chemical endangerment of a child after she allegedly ingested “methadone and cannabinoids” while pregnant with a child.

Boothe’s arrest warrant lists a Sept. 18 date for the crime.

As of Oct. 14, no court dates were listed for Boothe, and she did not have an attorney listed.

According to Alabama law, chemical endangerment of a child is a Class C felony. If convicted of the crime, Boothe could face between one-10 years in prison.
