Shelby County senior citizens will have a chance to better their health in several ways on Friday, Nov. 8 at Alabaster’s Westwood Baptist Church.

Westwood, the Shelby County Commission, Viva Medicare Plus and the Birmingham YMCA will partner to sponsor the Shelby County senior summit health fair from 9 a.m.-noon at the church, which is off Alabaster Boulevard behind the Propst Promenade shopping center.

During the event, older adults will be able to gather health and wellness information, have health screenings, learn disease-prevention tips, take part in exercise demonstrations, receive flu shots and more.

Viva Medicare Plus will provide lunch, and the event will be open to all Shelby County seniors.
